New frontiers in biomedical engineering. Developing advanced biosensors and modern point-of-care testing methods

Applying engineering principles within medicine and healthcare is no easy task. Yet, one of major importance. It  facilitates the development of new innovations and thus enhances and saves the patients’ lives more efficiently.

Follow Paweł Wityk, Ph.D. Eng., whose major aim is to construct biosensors to detect various pathogens – such as, e.g. an optoelectronic sensor for detecting SARS CoV-2 infection from saliva. He hopes that it will help in the development of modern point-of-care testing.

Dr. Wityk’s second major project involves the work on constructing a new device for urosepsis diagnosis.
