Discovering the role and therapeutic potential of bitter taste receptors in the human cardiovascular system

Did you know that the bitter taste receptors have been recently discovered in many extraoral locations, such as the respiratory and cardiovascular systems? What exactly is their role and function there?

Follow Paweł Kochany, an ambitious young medical student pursuing his research goal of establishing the expression of bitter taste receptors in human endothelial cells. He further aims to examine the function and role of these receptors in both health and disease.

The novelty of the project and the approach will most likely lead to bitter taste receptors becoming new therapeutic target in the treatment of cardiovascular and systematic diseases.

Would you like to conduct world-changing research just like Paweł Kochany? See our educational offer for future students and doctoral researchers. You can also apply for a position at the Medical University of Gdańsk and pursue your scientific journey.
